Hello folks and once again it's time for another edition of the emporium, it seems today's edition is all about the announcement that Magic Online is getting it's very own cube format, for those who don't know what a cube is, allow me to explain.
This particular format is where you draft from a pool of available cards, but the catch is you can make it as awesome as you want, you can add anything into the cube that has ever been printed in magic's history, but the catch is you may only put 1 copy of each card into the cube, much like commander or as i like to still call it Elder Dragon Highlander. For magic online's cube however it's going to consist of 720 cards, which will be changed from time to time, adding new, old and all sorts of neat little cards from all sets, showing what most consider the diversity of magic.
For a full list of the cards being used first, please go to the link below.
Full list of cards used --> Cube List
Now that's not all with this, with this you'll be drafting a special pack of magic on there, known as the cube pack, since obviously that's how it is done these days on there, let's take a look at the booster pack being drafted.
Now however, the cube event on magic online is only going to be playable on the weekend of Pax East, April 6th to 8th, 2012, so it is going to be a limited time event, but there will be a event at PAX east don't worry folks, it's a 64 man cube, with 8 people a pod, starting at 4 pm on the 6th, then it goes live according to the article at 5 pm eastern time for the remainder of the weekend, for full details see the link above of course, including the prizes for the event.
If you miss it though don't worry it'll pop back up again from time to time, for future events of course, this is actually a great chance to play cube for the people whom have never done so honestly. But however this is all the time we have for today, stay tuned for the next edition of the emporium, whenever that is, talking about more magic news, until next time this is Vergil signing off.
