Friday Night Magic Results for June 11th 2010

Ok so as everyone by now knows i go to friday night magic once a week every week when i got a chance and this week was no exception, i managed to snag a chance to go this week and here is the draft pod i managed to pick up for the deck i built

That was merely the decklist in which i used for the draft for this event, as i won't bother posting the rest of the pod in general since it was all crap pretty much, this was the main target i wanted for the deck, so let's get down to how i did in general.

Round 1 Vs Black Blue Vampires

Game 1 was merely a 4 land drop then spells were slung i managed to get in there with at least 12 points of damage by this point, ending the game with a dual kiln fiend/staggershock combo to move onto game 2

Game 2 was simply a forfeit by my opponent as turn 6 he decided to forefeit meaning i had won round 1 in general, nothing too big to worry about

Round 2 Vs Eldrazi R/G

Game 1 was a total slaughterfest for me, i got hit with 3/3's and 4/4's for most of the game ending it off with a giant ass eldrazi which resulted in me scooping for a change, moving onto game 2.

Game 2 was terrible still, as the giant ass eldrazi hit the field turn 9 Artisan Of Kozilek no less so this means i was screwed he returned a dread drone and i scooped.

Record 1-1 at this point

Round 3 was also eldrazi based G/B eldrazi though

Game 1 was nice for a change, opponent managed a dread drone and a couple of tokens, i cleared the path with flame slash and every burn spell i could hurl, taking out my opponent in 6 turns due to a combo of Battle Rattle/Kiln fiend/Burn Spells

Game 2 was a wreck as the eldrazi in his deck was artisan as well, bloody hell, scooped as soon as it hit the field, onto game 3.

Game 3 was a washout as well with spawn tokens hitting the field left and right thanks to dread drone/kozilek's predator and growth spasm, chumping my quick strikes leaving him time for the eldrazi on the field, swung twice with annhilator and i scoop.

Round 4 5 Color Eldrazi

Game 1 was fun, swung in with cliffhaven and caravan with quick efficent strikes, blocked a few and managed to come out with the victory due to kiln fiend/burn spells

Game 2 was a fun one as well as i managed to get half my creatures on the field including my lifegainer aka Soul's Attendant, opponent sac'ed all his lands to make 2 8/8 elemental tokens, they swung in on 24 life, taking me down to 8, i swung in for the win next turn since he had only 1 land on board

2-2 at this point which ended the event.

Overall i did well this week, friday's event is one i am looking forward to as well, as most of the time, i managed to get a good draft pod, some nice spells to sling in combo with kiln fiend which is broken in this format, as soon as M11 arrives though i will be shifting gears into that since i compete in FNM's once a week usually around here, thank god though that the G20 is hitting town next week meaning i don't get to go anywhere on the friday of course, so this is of course Vergil Signing off due to the end of the event and i got nothing else to say, so see ya.
